We have so much to be thankful for this year. Most of all, our beautiful son, Emerick. It wasn't easy to bring him into the world...it took over 2 years and 1 miscarriage, so he is a miracle to us. He brings a smile to our faces even when we are exhausted. We are so thankful that God chose us to be his parents. I couldn't have hand picked a better one myself!

I will post more pictures later, Emerick gets to hang with his cousin Dean today!

|emerick's airplane|

We might be crazy weird parents, but we have already talked about how we will decorate Emerick's room once he is a toddler (once we break down the crib which converts into a full size bed) we probably won't do this until he is maybe 3 years old?

James friend MADE Emerick this really cool vintage airplane to hang from the ceiling. The airplane is huge, not sure if you can get an idea of its size from the photos. James has mentioned a couple of times that I need to put a picture the airplane on the blog for his family to see, so here it is!

I came across this really cute bedding collection from The Company Store - Kids, which would go perfect with the vintage airplane hanging from the ceiling! Too bad the collection is discontinued and they only have a couple of the items left :( I guess I gotta keep searching!



Also, you can click on this photo below to see it larger. Emerick's eyes seem to be getting lighter! I did not enhance this photo at all, and I didn't even take the picture with my fancy camera. Do you think his eyes look blue?

Oliver and stella don't care for Emerick, but they love his play gym floor mat! Oliver sits there and licks the pillow part of it, probably because it smells like milk from Emerick spitting up on it, gross!

Emerick was crying and Stella could care less, Oliver ran away.

Emerick and Hugo got to meet for the first time yesterday. They are less than 2 weeks apart, and both sooo cute. We had a nice visit with our friends Lester & Erin. Their daughter Cleo kept sneaking sips of my ice blended when I would set it down, and thought it was pretty funny :) I think by the look on Hugo's face in the close-up photo below is hilarious, he was obviously frightened by the size of Emerick's massive head. It was also a rare occasion where Emerick was actually sleeping through being moved around and set down on the couch to take a photo! He is usually ALWAYS awake because he is such a light sleeper.

Mr. Emerick is 7 weeks & 3 days old today, and weighing in at a whopping FOURTEEN POUNDS. He smiles & coos, and slept for 5 hours straight last night. Hoping he repeats that tonight, and that this is progress, baby steps towards sleeping through the nite. :)

I just wanted to post a picture of one of Emerick's "tricks" If you prop him in a standing position in the corner of the couch, he will stand there for about 30 seconds! Also, another picture of him in a pair of his baby legs, I love these things, he has 7 pairs of them!

He is still a little too small/wobbly in his bumbo seat, but I think he likes it! (Thanks Joanne!)

Emerick is such a strong baby. He holds his head up like he is 4 months old, and ALWAYS has to be standing when you hold him. I can't even burp him over my shoulder without him pushing off my thighs and standing while I burp him! I am scared he will be walking at 9 months like his Mama did!

Look at those strong/chunky little big legs!! Gotta LOVE the dimples in his butt!

Emerick is our little baby elephant. We chose elephants as his nursery decor, and for some reason we always notice cute little elephant outfits at the baby stores. Since I was fearful of having a huge baby during my pregnancy, James said we were jinxing it by choosing elephants, and we should have chose mice for his nursery instead. HAHA, I guess he was right because I gave birth to an elephant - A huge baby. I would never trade him in for a mouse though. :)
